Importance of a Balanced Diet

A diet is termed balanced when it has the proper amount of calories, vitamins and minerals needed to keep a person healthy. This can be attributed in this simple but healthy breakfast diet; two slices of bread (carbohydrates), one ommelette, (protein & vitamin), one glass mango juice slice (vitamins)

Focus should be more on health diets other than junk foods. Junk foods are basically starches, carbohydrates and contain a lot of unsaturated fats. These unsaturated fatty acids cause inflammation and calcification of arterial cells, which are diverse symptoms of coronary heart disease. They inhibit cyclooxygenase, an enzyme required for the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostacyclin, necessary for the regulation of blood flow.
